Dominus Napa Red 2013 was the latest offering from this venerable winery which is run by legendary French winemaker Christian Moueix. Moueix is famous from his work at Chateau Petrus, among other Bordeaux houses, but has been producing world class wines in Napa for decades. The 2013 Dominus is mostly (90%) Cabernet with a with a little Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Opens with lots of Ceder wood and forest floor, which gives way to blackberries and blackcurrants. Nice inky opaque color complimenting the super pure Cabernet fruit. Ripe meaty tannins hold this masterpiece together from start to finish. Drinking great now, but will easily age graciously for the next 40 years. Perfect, 100 point scores from a number of wine critics, including Parker and Decanter, among other reviewers.
